Textures
Procedural shaders, not images: animated grain gradients and a dithered dot-field. Use them as full-bleed accents (hero, footer), never behind body copy without a scrim.
Misuse
The logo is fixed. Keep it intact, on-color, and uncrowded. These are the most common ways it goes wrong.
